Level 1 – Care for Physical Needs

Head Track

Objectives

Participants will learn about the following:

  1. The International Humanitarian Assistance Program (I-HARP)™ comprises three Certificates developed as part of the FAERF Institute, a program under the Family Assistance Education & Research Foundation (FAERF), a  501c-3 charitable organization.
  2.  How I-HARP principles were developed and how these ideas may be applied to workplace crises involving one employee, one family, and multi-casualty events.
  3. The three primary symbols used in the program to convey messages that transcend language. The symbols communicate consistent messages to people from multiple backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures.
  4. A Hierarchy of Human Needs is used to organize responses to survivors of traumatic loss in the workplace.
  5. The two tracks of the program include the head, denoting the tasks, behaviors, and information of a logistical and operational nature, and the heart, representing the soft skills and emotional track of humanitarian assistance response.
