Lesson Objectives
Participants will learn about the following:
- Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory proposes that certain human needs must be fulfilled in a particular order before higher needs become conscious.
- Physiological needs, the first level of needs, must be met for each survivor group, including crew members and company employees whose lives are at risk.
- The Ripple is the model for organizing responses to survivors and families impacted by a crisis in the workplace.
- First circle in the center of the ripple, or those in harm’s way whose lives are at risk and may become injured or killed, or primary survivors;
- The second circle is secondary survivors, which includes family members and loved ones of those who were injured, killed, or who lived through the crisis;
- Third circle, Care and Special Assistance Team members and all company employees who assisted in the response.
